The Price of Power · Canon
Elara took the vial, its surface cool and smooth. She felt the weight of the decision before her. Could she wield this power responsibly, or would she succumb to the same fate as the alchemist? She thought of her mother, of the knowledge she had sought to pass on. Perhaps this was her chance to continue that legacy, to use the veil’s power to heal and protect.
But doubt gnawed at her. What if she made a mistake? What if the cost was too great? Her impulsiveness had led her here, but now she would have to temper it with caution. “I’ll return,” she said, her voice steady. “But I’ll carry this knowledge with care.”
The figure nodded, and the landscape dissolved. Elara found herself back in the spire, the silver veil nowhere to be seen. But she could feel its presence within her, a spark of potential waiting to be ignited.
